Western Red Cedar Hedging For Privacy And Screening
Dont panic its not a leylandi!
First of all don’t panic, its not a leylandi, its not going to lift up the foundations of your house or over shadow your garden (just a few of things we hear when we suggest this option), yes it is a conifer, but a good evergreen hedging plant which can act a first class, high screening, superstar. With average growth, fully evergreen all year round and similar looking to yew hedging, this is a great alternate hedge if privacy and screening is a priority, which wont overtake your garden as you may think.
What is western red cedar like?
Thuja are fast-growing evergreen trees of narrowly conical habit, with flat sprays of tiny, aromatic, scale-like leaves and small knobbly cones. Mainly used for high screening.
