Instant Beech Hedging
What is good about Beech hedging?
Beech is a great type of hedge for the garden as it has so many different looks throughout the year, starting out spring with a fresh soft green or pruple leaf that is not yet hardened to the weather and holding on to the old winter leaf, moving into the summer where it really fills out in leaf brightening up the garden, then into the autumn where is changes from green, yellow, orange, until it goes into winter where is keeps the copper brown leaf. Giving a semi-evergreen hedging, without just being green all year round.
What is Beech hedging like?
Fagus are large deciduous trees with smooth grey bark, ovate leaves colouring well in autumn and inconspicuous flowers followed by usually spiny fruits.
Fagus sylvatica is a large, vigorous deciduous tree with a broad, spreading crown. Leaves broadly elliptic, yellow-green in spring, rich russet-brown in autumn. Flowers small, green, followed by bristly fruits.
